As crisp fall temperatures arrive and hot, humid conditions depart, we’ve managed to close down the air-conditioning, open the windows and turn the ceiling fans on high at my residence. There’s nothing I love more in early autumn than fresh autumnal breezes circulating through my house.
Due to many very ugly versions, the ceiling fan has gotten a bad rap. Ron Rezek’s version, however, designed in 1999, is my all-time favorite and might change your mind about ceiling fans. The Cirrus is simple and modern, and available in many variations. Whether your home has high or low ceilings, and requires mild or not, this might be the enthusiast for you.

Sustainability is integral throughout this Adirondacks, New York, home. Examples include extensive all-natural lighting, natural ventilation only (no air-conditioning, only Cirrus ceiling fans), large overhangs to decrease heat in summer, photovoltaic solar panels for electrical energy, reclaimed wood siding, exposed concrete flooring with local bluestone aggregate, and fluorescent or LED electrical lights only.
Approved for use in damp and covered outdoor areas, the Cirrus is a wonderful alternative for a modern patio.
